Message from Administrators

Greetings, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in George Watts Montessori Magnet school. It has been my honor and a privilege to play an active role in transitioning George Watts into a Montessori school. I feel that this method is a perfect fit for this school community. I first joined the Watts team as an administrative intern. After graduation from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, I became a permanent member of the administrative team. I was fortunate to be named the Principal of George Watts Montessori on December 15, 2005.
Over the next few years, I look forward to leading this school into full Montessori Implementation. My background includes teaching first grade at Myrtle Beach Primary school in South Carolina and then I taught at Morehead Montessori in Durham for 8 years, where I focused my attention on teaching Primary students.
My interests out side of school involve my family. We spend a great deal of time at "the barn" with our horses and we like to take our camper and explore the coast and the mountains.
Again, I welcome you to George Watts Montessori. Please stop in or contact me if you have questions or would like to visit our school. I welcome the opportunity to share all of the good things that are happening at George Watts Montessori.

Patti Crum
Principal

Welcome back! I’d like to take this opportunity to officially introduce myself.  My name is Sheldon Reynolds and I’m new to North Carolina.  Earlier this summer my wife (Chinika) and I moved from Denver, CO so that she could pursue a Physician Assistants degree at Duke University where she was accepted as a university scholars fellow.  For the past six years I have worked in the Denver Public School system.  During my time in DPS I’ve worked hard to obtain successful experiences at the school-wide and classroom level.  Chief among them, being named a Denver Mile High Teacher of the year in 2007 as well as leading my school to become recognized as the third ranked DPS elementary school according to academic growth and student achievement.  I look forward to sharing my talents, experience, and commitment as an educator to make an immediate and valuable contribution to the entire George Watts Montessori community.
